At this time, there is no hair loss cure. There are some medicines that can slow the hair loss process, but there is no hair loss cure.

Hair Loss Medicines

Minoxidil has been around for a long time helping restore hair loss in some men. However, it does not work for everyone. Studies have shown it works best in young men who are just starting to lose their hair. It should also be noted that men who are balding on their pates get better results than those with receding hairline type of hair loss. Men who are already bald get very poor results with minoxidil.

New hair growth occurs in only about one third of hair loss users, and the hair produced is fine and downy compared to the rest of the hair. When you stop using minoxidil, your new grown hair will disappear within a couple of months.

Minoxidil comes in a lotion that is applied on the balding area, and there are few side effects

Propecia gives better results than minoxidil with about two-thirds of the hair loss users experiencing new growth. More than 80 % of those using propecia maintain the hair they already have. Propecia is a prescription drug that comes in tablet form.  There can be certain side effects associated with it such as decreased sex drive, poor erections and decreased semen. These side effect occur in about 2% of those using the drug.

As with minoxidil, if you stop taking the medicine, you will not keep your new hair growth.
