Cures for Bad Breath
Chronic bad breath -- also known as halitosis -- is a social life killer. You can use all the mints and Tic-Tac's in the world, but they only camouflage the problem. But the basic condition remains. You have bad breath mostly all of the time which is very offensive to others.
Most people with bad breath are unaware of it, unless someone who cares about them has let them know. Telling someone that their breath is offensive is not the easiest thing to do. That is why the message usually comes from someone who has a genuine concern for the person.
There are cures for bad breath.
- The first step is brushing the teeth properly. You need to brush your teeth at least one full minute rather than the twenty to thirty seconds that most people take. It is best to use a toothbrush with soft, rounded bristles. People with bad breath should attempt to brush for the full 60 seconds at least once a day. The best plan of action is to brush after each time you eat.
- Clean between the teeth and gums with waxed or unwaxed dental floss or use a dental toothpick.
- Scrape the tongue using special implements made for specifically for that purpose.
- Rinse with a mouth wash containing germ-killers.

Morning Breath
We all know what morning breath is. Just about everybody wakes up with it. Of course the foul taste and odor occurs because the mouth has been closed for 8 hours more or less without the usual moving tongue and saliva flow. Morning breath is just that --bad breath in the morning that is easily taken care of by brushing your teeth as soon as you get up. Some people prefer to take a breath mint, eat breakfast and then brush after breakfast. But either way, morning breath can be easily cured and cannot be compared to chronic bad breath.
Other Causes of Bad Breath
If you are diligent about your daily dental care and still suffer from bad breath, you should consult your dentist. There are other causes of halitosis such as dietary habits or a gum infection.
